The Sims 2 Ships to Stores The popular PC game is now available on multiple platforms. by Erik Brudvig October 24, 2005 - EA announced that The Sims 2 has shipped to retailers for Playstation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo DS, and the Game Boy Advance, with PSP and mobile versions to follow suit in the coming weeks.
Although based on the PC version, the console and handheld iterations were reworked from the ground up to make full use of each system's capabilities. While the console versions are similar to the PC in their open ended gameplay, the handheld versions each feature their own unique goal-oriented storyline.
"Now that The Sims 2 is everywhere, on every platform from consoles and handheld game systems, to PCs and mobile phones, one of the most widely-popular games in history is also one of the most widely accessible!" said Executive Producer, Sinjin Bain.
The Sims 2 was developed by EA-Maxis and is rated "T" for Teen on the Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and Playstation 2. It has received an "E10+" rating by the ESRB for the Nintendo DS and the Game Boy advance.
