October 20, 2005 - Electronic Arts today bestowed upon us the first, official Need for Speed Most Wanted vehicle list, replete with Vipers, Laborghinis, Porsches, Lotuses, Corvettes, Audis, BMWs, and more.
Need for Speed Most Wanted is a return to roots in a sense, shifting away from the heavily mod-influence of the NFS Underground series, and returning cops and high-speed chases to the forefront. Players win races to earn money, and use money to unlock new cars and kits, but the focus is on steet racing and cop evasion.
The new car set should look pretty familiar to many Need For Speed fans, though there are more street cars here, and several highly stylized ones to boot.
With this 36-car set, players can test EA's physics system, get a feel for a variety of vehicles, and then tell the cops to come and get it. Using new features including SpeedBreaker (like Bullet Time) and Gamebreaker (environmental hazards) as well as nitro to evade cops, your arsenal of tricks is loaded. You'll vie in a hefty series of different styles races including Toll Booth races, Beat the Time races, Drag Races, and Escape races among others.
