Elite Release Namco's Sniper Elite targets nationwide retailers. by Douglass C. Perry October 18, 2005 - The World War II sniping simulation, Sniper Elite, available on Xbox and PS2, has shipped to retailers nationwide, Namco Hometek, Inc. announced today.
In Sniper Elite, players dig into the ruins of Berlin in 1945, taking on the role of a specialized American sniper team bent on obtaining atmic research from the Germans. Players must use skill and patience as long range, gravity, heart rate, wind speed and direction, breath, posture, and other factors are a factor in aiming. Sniper Elite is 28 missions long, giving players a chance to wield machine guns, dynamite and deadly trip grenades. Sniper Elite also has co-op mode, and up to eight player support online.
"Sniper Elite harnesses the intensity of World War II Berlin by positioning players in the midst of an international struggle for German nuclear intelligence," said Jeff Lujan, business director at Namco Hometek, Inc. "The advanced sniping mechanics and sophisticated AI add to the realism of the game, making players feel the chaos and danger of fighting behind enemy lines."
