You know, over the years, I have often ponder on WHY Pac was as big as he was and WHY his name still lives on. I really hadn't answered that question for myself... untill recent. The recent slew of Topics about Pac have got me to thinking on this topic again and I think I have finally figured it out for myself rather then just hear he's the best and blindly agree.
Pac had it all, simple as. He had unbelievable lyrical skill. He had a delivery that works on pretty much all his songs. But on top of that, he did something that not many have done. He could easily knock out a song that addresses an issue in the world. Like Brenda's Got A Baby. That song was some real shit, he show'd with songs like this that he truely cared about the world and wanted to make change by addressing the problems.
Yet, on another track, he could come with something that stay'd true to himself... yet got MAJOR mainstream play and got the clumbs going and sung by Rap fans and even Pop fans alike.
But I think the most amazing thing was, h e could come with a hard ass track at the drop of a dime and STILL keep the interest of even those fans that particularly didn't care for the more "Gangsta" sound. He show'd that he was truelly versitile in his taste and style. Hell, ""Ambitionz Az A Ridah" is STILL my FAVORITE song of ALL TIME!
Eminem on the other hand, I have yet to figure the big deal about him. In my opinion, he hasn't had that mny notable singles and in recent memory, it seems he has totally sold out any ounce of himself that dispised the mainstream. His recent singles? I can't even stand them. *Shrugs* I'm just not an Em fan I guess.
Pac is and always will remain a legend in the Hip-Hop world. Not many in recent years could eve be compared to him when it comes to his lyrics. The only one I would even consider place in the same sentance as Pac would be... I don't really have to say, do I? But even then, He has not even reached the level of Pac, which takes alot for me to admit.
What it boils down tfo me is the fact that Pac truely could come from any direction and pull it off while on the other hand, Eminem hasn't really show'd me much other then the standard mainstream stuff tht gets airplay on TRL... *Shrugs*

Who do I like...Hmm...
Well...
I rest my case...
EDIT: You know, Im really not in the mood to do nice like Kain, but let me tell you a story about pac...Seen and told by Dr. Dre himself.
The most famous song probably of Dr Dre and maybe Tupac is...
Thats right...
As you can guess, While Dre was just finishing up the beat and pac was told to start working on his rhymes...Dre finished about 2 minutes later and turned around and pac just finished his whole part of the track...These lyrics werent some half-ass either...But you can be the judge of that.
Now, I rest my case...

Why are you wasting time on posting the lyrics? I agree that the lyrics on most tupac songs are great. however, whats that have to do with the actuall quality of the song? The actual music for most tupac music is close to nothing and hardly mixes with the lyrics anyways. Not that I dislike tupac but I really could'nt care less for the lyrics if theres no music to go with it. And if you say "You probably don't listen to enough tupac" I will totaly freak because I listened to over 60 songs from him and did'nt find ONE that I liked even a little. The music is great, the LYRICS are great. but they just don't match... ...and when they don't match, it F***s up the entire rythm. But as before, you like what you like and I'll do the same. Your choice after all.

You seem to have a lot of anger here, why I dont know. Then again maybe its my imagination.
In my opinion...The beats are meaningless, its all about lyrics and the flow of the rhymes.

Im sorry if I target any anger at you guys right now but josh is trying to prove how I am the cause of all fights yet again. All because I don't agree with him on artist. I truely did not try to show anger in my last post but... ...well i can't seem to get him to realise i am not the cause of every little quarrel just because I prove im right. He THINKS I am trying to prove im right but in truth I am defending my right to like what I like and know what I know. I have'nt said ANYTHING to him that I don't KNOW as true and he is saying that I make stuff up just to get on the winning side. And if your reading josh this is how I sincerly feel right now. I am sorry I am not on msn anymore but it closed out on me and wont log back in. You can still talk on YIM with me if you want. Now PLEASE realise that I am NOT posting with anger right now but with disgust at the fact he always think these things. If any of you knew the thing about me and what I hold secret you would understand me. These are things I have'nt even told the very best of my friends and probably never will.

I respect that right, you like whatever you want, I wont stop you from posting your opinions but when someone is talking about someone I look up to negatively, I would tend to defend him...Isnt that only natural?
I should be impartial, but hey, when you practicly worship a guy that happens...Lol
